The Next-generation access and 4G will drive growth in worldwide telecoms service revenue during 2016–2021
Our regional interim forecast results show that growing handset data usage and widespread 4G coverage will contribute most to increasing worldwide telecoms service revenue between 2016 and 2021. A significant percentage of worldwide fixed service revenue will come from fixed broadband, due to network upgrades and increasing investment in next-generation access, mainly in developed regions. We briefly summarise the regional revenue trends in fixed and mobile segments and the main drivers behind them in this comment.
