Sazeh Sazan Company (SSC) is undertaking the construction of a power and desalination plant in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province, Iran.

The project involves the construction of a desalination plant with a processing capacity of 200,000 tonnes of seawater into fresh water a day in two units.

It includes the construction of purification units, storage facilities, pumping stations, metering stations and related infrastructure, the installation of equipment, and the laying of pipelines.

In April 2016, SSC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Iranian National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company.

On June 28, 2016, SSC awarded a construction contract to Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co Ltd for the first unit. The scope of the contract includes engineering, procurement, construction and test operation of the facility and also provides operation and maintenance (O&M) services until October 2030.

Axiom Company was appointed as design consultant, Farapox Company as pipe supply contractor, SAB Co. as civil contractor.

In April 2018, Hyflux Ltd was appointed as main contractor for the second unit.

Pre-construction works are underway and the entire project is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2023.
