WEXFORD Science & Technology, LLC (WEXFORD), a subsidiary of BioMed Realty Trust Inc., and CV Properties, LLC (CVP), is undertaking construction of a mixed-use community in Providence, Rhode Island, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 92,903m2 mixed-use community featuring a Science & Technology innovation complex and hotel on 2ha of land in three phases.

The first phase involves the construction of 18,116m2 Innovation Center and 170-room Starwood Brand Aloft Hotel. It also includes the construction of 6,131m2, Cambridge Innovation Center, 743m2 Cambridge Innovation Centers District Hall, 4,645m2 Brown University,

The project also includes the construction of laboratories, academic research space, a hotel, retail and residential space, parking and related facilities.

Ayers Saint Gross appointed as an Architecture for the project.

Shawmut Design & Construction has been awarded as the general contractor and Odeh Engineers has been awarded as a structural engineer.

On May 20, 2015, WEXFORD and CVP submitted the project plans to the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission (IRDC).

In December 2015, WEXFORD is seeking US$25 million grant and the Commission voted to approve design plans.

On February 13, 2017, Project received the conceptual designs approvals from the Providences Downtown Design Review Committee.

In April 2017, WEXFORD received the approvals from the Providences Downtown Design Review Committee.

On September 25, 2017, groundbreaking ceremony held marking the start of construction.

On March 27, 2018, topping out ceremony was held on innovation complex.

Construction activities on innovation complex are underway and are expected to complete by June 2019.

The project involves the construction of a 92,903m2 mixed-use community featuring a life-sciences complex on 2ha of land in Providence, the US.

The US$158 million project includes the following:

3. Construction of 170-room Aloft hotel
