M&G Real Estate (MGRE), Intu Properties plc (INTU) and JT Baylis & Co Ltd (JTB) are jointly planning to expand its shopping center in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, the UK.

The project involves the construction of mixed-use facilities that include an 8,980m2 area for restaurants and cafes, a 120-bed hotel, 150 apartments, a new bus station, a foot and cycle bridge over Merlin Road, a multi-storey car park with 1,500 spaces and related facilities.

It will also expand the shopping mall by 35,350m2 area for new retail outlets to the existing 68,000m2 mall.

Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners has been appointed as study consultant and Chapman Taylor LLP as an architect.

In October 2014, MGRE held public consultations and presented the project plans.

In January 2015, MGRE, INTU and JTB submitted a revised outline planning application to South Gloucestershire Council (SGC).

On November 3, 2016, the Councillors on the planning committee of South Gloucestershire Council reviewed the project proposals.

In April 2017, MGRE, INTU and JTB secured final approvals from the council.

Design works are underway.

Scope


The project involves the construction of mixed-use facilities and expands the Mall at Cribbs Causeway by 35,350m2 area in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, the UK.

The US$368 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of a 120-bed hotel

2. Construction of 150 apartments

3. Construction of 8,980m2 of space for restaurants and cafes

4. Construction of a new bus station

5. Construction of a foot and cycle bridge over Merlin Road

6. Expansion of shopping mall by adding 35,350m2 of space for shops

7. Construction of a multi-story car park with 1,500 spaces

8. Construction of related facilities
