Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority (HLRA) is planning to build a mixed-use complex in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, the US.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use complex on a 349ha of land. It includes the construction of 1,416 residential units, a town center, 167,225m2 of commercial facilities comprising a hotel and conference center, a regional recreation center, a school, an aviation museum, parks, walkways, access roads, parking and related facilities, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.
The 1,416 residential units will comprise 90 large-lot single family homes, 250 small-lot single family homes, 350 townhomes, 400 apartment or condominiums and 326 continuing care units for seniors.
RKG Associates Inc. (RKG) has been appointed as a planner and on March 21, 2012, HLRA approved the redevelopment plan.
On January 24, 2014, HLRA issued a request for qualification (RFQ) for appointing the master developer.
On May 21, 2014, HLRA issued requests for proposals (RFP) to five developers Catellus Development Corp (CDC), Hankin Group (HG), K Hovnanian Homes (KHH), Basser-Kaufman (BK), Oxford Properties (OP), Korman Communities (KC), Lennar Homes (LH) and Toll Brothers Inc. (TBI) for preparing detailed proposals for the development.
In April 2015, CDC was appointed as master developer and Tetra Tech as the contractor Private drinking water well sampling or provision of bottled drinking water for perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
In May 2015, HLRA approved an agreement with CDC to negotiate with the Navy on transferring ownership of the property.
On May 19, 2016, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of U.S. identified on the site, the presence of perfluorinated compounds in the drinking water and they are greater than the threshold value.
In May 2017, final survey reports were completed.
