Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) is undertaking the construction of a combined cycle power plant in Tunghsiao, Miaoli, Taiwan.

The project involves the construction of powerhouses, substations and other related facilities, and the installation of transformers, gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery systems and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.

The project will have three units with a capacity of 850MW each, and every unit will have two M501J gas turbines, one steam turbine, a heat recovery steam generator and three generators.

In September 2013, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) joined CTCI Corporation to act as the projects EPC contractor. MHI is responsible for the manufacture and supply of the gas and steam turbines and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MC) will supply the generators. CTCI Corporation (CTCI) will undertake the construction and installation works.

Construction works are underway.
