The Socit des Ports du Dtroit (SDP) is undertaking the extension of the Port Boulogne Calais in Calais, France.

Socit des Ports du Dtroit (SDP), owned by Chambre de Commerce et dIndustrie de la Cte dOpale (CCICO) and The Chambre de Commerce et dIndustrie de Rgion Nord de France (CCIR Nord de France) (19%), CDC Infrastructure, a subsidiary of the Caisse des Dpts (40%), Meridiam (40%) and GPM Dunkerque (1%).

The project involves the construction of a breakwater wall of 3km long, a dock with a surface area of 90ha, a median on a 44ha of land, platforms, a cross-channel terminal.

The project will be developed in two phases. First phase involves the construction of a breakwater wall of 3km long, a dock with a surface area of 90ha will house three ferry stands of 240m with double deck bridges, a new cross-channel terminal, platforms, a leisure water park, medians, backed platform piggyback, a quayside rail terminal.

The second phase involves the construction of a fourth ferry station and a ro-ro terminal (Roll-On Roll-Off) equipped with the ramp for loading ro-ro 200m.

In 2006, the study contract was awarded to Egis group and it drew up the master plan for the short, medium and long-term development of the port, and carried out preliminary outline design studies of port infrastructure.

In the first quarter of 2015, the project management contract was awarded to Egis.

In February 2015, a Public Service Delegation contract (DSP) was signed through which the Rgion Nord Pas-de-Calais, the owner of the Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais Ports, grants the Socit dExploitation des Ports du Dtroit (SEPD) the concession to operate these two sites.

SEPD is owned by i) The Chambre de Commerce et dIndustrie de la Cte dOpale (CCICO) and The Chambre de Commerce et dIndustrie de Rgion Nord de France (CCIR Nord de France) (73.1%), ii) CDC Infrastructure, a subsidiary of the Caisse des Dpts (11%) iii) Meridiam (11%) and Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais Ports Employees (4.9%).

SEPD is the concession holder in charge of operating the two sites in Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais Ports for the next 50 years. SEPD has delegated the financing, building and maintaining the Calais Port 2015 project to The Socit des Ports du Dtroit (SDP).

In February 2015, the design-build contract was awarded to a consortium led by Bouygues Travaux Publics composed of DTP, Colas Group (subsidiaries of Bouygues), Spie Batignolles and its subsidiary Valerian, Sodraco International SAS ( a subsidiary of Jan de Nul) and Soletanche Bachy (Vinci).

ARCADIS has been appointed as lead engineers by the contractor. Arcadis will lead the engineering work from the final design to the detailed design including site supervision during construction.

In July 2015, Allianz GI agreed to provide project finance. On behalf of the Allianz Group and third-party investors is providing the US$548 million funding through the subscription of a bond.

In July 2015, European Commission (EU) approved the US$300 million funding for the project development.

On July 22, 2015, the project finance agreements were signed.

On January 16, 2016, demolition activities commenced.

On September 26, 2016, the construction activities commenced.

Construction activities are underway.
