The Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP) through Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Co Limited(MPMR) is planning to build a metro system in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

The project involves the construction of a 107km rapid transit light metro system with 75 stations along six corridors from Annapurna to Sukhliya, Super Corridor MR 10 to Ring Road and Niranjanpur to Bhawarkuan.

The Urban Development & Environment Department (UDED) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with DMRC in April 2010, to facilitate the preparation of a feasibility report on the project.

In July 2010, DMRC advised GoMP to prepare a city mobility plan and comprehensive transport plan before commencing a survey on the proposed metro routes.

The State and Central governments will provide US$426 million each and remaining US$1,278 million arranged through loan from multilateral/bilateral funding agencies.

DMRC commenced initial survey works in August 2011.

On December 12, 2011, GoMP approved the initial development plans.

On January 19, 2016, state government submitted the detailed project report to the center.

In May 2016, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has agreed to finance the project.
