University World News is the first online global higher education newspaper. Since it began publishing its weekly newsletter in October 2007, the paper has been covering events in universities around theglobe.
University World News has a network of more than 30 education journalists based in more than two-dozen countries, with representation in all regions on Earth. Our writers are respected senior reporters whose work has been published in international and national newspapers and magazines.
Each week, University World News provides readers with a free emailed newspaper and updated website. Coverage from our correspondents around the globe includes news reports, analyses, features, global stories of key issues, plus links to interesting news items from other leading newspapers.
We offer a far wider range of higher education stories than is currently possible from a single publication, and provide a truly international perspective to an international readership. As well as news stories, University World News also publishes a regular series of special reports by our correspondents that, along with commentaries by senior academics and researchers, provide insights and information about how different countries tackle a diverse range of subjects.
The more than 30 special reports published so far range from the impact of the global financial crisis on universities, reform of higher education and university funding to quality assurance, the Bologna process and the situation of women in higher education.
This digital book is the first in a planned series that brings a set of eight of these special reports together in the one volume. They are, as the title of this series says, “reports from the frontier”: up-to-the-minute accounts describing how universities and those who fund higher education are coping with the challenges that confront them in an increasingly globalised world. |
