Commercial banks receive revenue from many sources including check writing, trust account management fees, investments, loans and mortgages, and commissions and fees for sundry banking services. The market values in this report refers to total assets held by banks as generated by their domestic operations at the end of any fiscal year, excludes the allowance for loan and lease losses and the allocated transfer risk reserve. Any currency conversions used in this report are at the constant annual average exchange rate.
