The project involves the construction of a 39-story, 65,500m2 police headquarters tower to house up to 2500 officers. It includes the construction of a police museum, a gym, a public waiting area, ancillary areas, a drying room, refreshment areas, maintenance storerooms, waste management facilities, 420-bicycle and 600-car parking spaces and the installation of elevators, safety, and security systems.

Woods Bagot has been appointed as the architect and Urbis Pty Ltd as the master planner for the project.

In May 2016, Cbus issued tenders for the project.

In January 2017, Cbus obtained approval from the Government of Victoria.

In February 2017, Probuild Constructions (Aust) Pty Ltd (Probuild) was appointed as the construction contractor for the project.

Pre-construction works are underway. Simultaneously, Cbus is in the process of securing approvals from Melbourne City Council. Subject to approvals, the construction will be commenced in the third quarter of 2017 with completion scheduled for 2020.
