Cititower Sdn Bhd (Cititower), a joint venture between Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company and KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, is undertaking the fourth phase of Kuala Lumpur City Center project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The project involves the development of mixed use facilities on 1.61ha area sprawled in three lots namely Lot 185, Lot 167 and Lot 176.

It includes the construction of a 62-story hotel comprising 750 rooms, serviced apartments, residences and associated facilities, a 64-story office tower, a six-story retail tower and basement car parking facilities, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.

Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects along with Perunding Alam Bina Sdn. Bhd (PAB) were appointed as the architects and Veritas Design Group was appointed as the design consultant for the project. Qatari Diar will provide finance for the project and KLCC Holdings will provide lands for the development.

In April 2013, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd was appointed as the contractor for the piling and sub-structure works as well as associated works for the project. The contract will take up to 82 weeks.

In May 2013, groundbreaking ceremony was held on the project and in September 2013, piling work on the project was initiated.

In January 2014, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a luxury brand in the FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI) portfolio, signed a management agreement with the Cititower.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall also known as Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) was appointed as the planner.

In December 2015, DBKL submitted development proposal for office and hotel development.

China State Construction Engineering was appointed as the construction contractor.

Pre construction works including piling and structural works are underway.

Scope


The project involves the development of mixed use facilities on 1.61ha area sprawled in three lots between Suria KLCC and the Asy-Syakirin mosque, at the eastern corner of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The US$1,629 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of a 62-story hotel
2. Construction of a 64-story office tower
3. Construction of a six-story retail tower
4. Construction of basement car parking facilities
5. Installation of elevators
6. Installation of safety and security systems
