The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (MGoN&DC) is undertaking the redevelopment of existing convention center in Tennessee, the US.

The project involves the redevelopment of Nashville convention center into a mixed-use complex. It includes the construction of 21,832m2 of retail, entertainment and dining space, 34-story apartment tower, 380 apartments, an 25-story office building tower, 35,768m2 office tower, 13,006m2 of a conference center, a 5,200m2 museum, 5,574m2 of office space above retail space, 25 meeting rooms, an 11,055m2 exhibit space, a 2,000-car parking garage and related facilities.

In December 2013, Spectrum|Emery, a subsidiary of Spectrum Properties, was selected as master developer.

Spectrum|Emery partnered with OliverMcMillan to develop the project.

Gresham, Smith & Partners and Gensler have been appointed as architects, Hawkins Partners Inc. as a landscape architect, Skanska as general contractor, Cushman & Wakefield as master planner and Sims Strategic Diversity as consultants for the project.

RMI Designs as a design consultant for an office building.

In March 2015, OliverMcMillan and Spectrum are in negotiations with the Renaissance Hotel over its use of meeting space at the site.

In May 2015, the Metro Council finalized an agreement to sell the old convention center to the developers OliverMcMillan and Spectrum. Under the agreement, development will not commence until financial satisfaction is met with the development team.

As of November 2015, MGoN&DC is still in the process of acquiring the project site and the agreement is expected to be finalized in December 2015.

The development team is expected to secure US$12 million financing in tax increment and the Nashville Convention Center Authority will finance for 1,200 parking spaces.

The project developers, Spectrum/Emery were to pay US$5 million for the project site and were supposed to close the deal by December 2015 but they asked for two extensions of three months each. Every extension costs the developers US$250,000.

MGoN&DC completed the acquisition of old Nashville Convention Center site.

On April 18, 2017, a groundbreaking ceremony was held, marking the start of construction works.

As of July 2017, demolition and excavation works are underway.

In March 2018, Skanska signed the contract extension agreement with OliverMcMillan and Spectrum.

As of March 2018, majority of site excavation works completed and construction work started on underground parking garage.

Construction activities are underway and scheduled for completion by 2020.
